I should clarify; when I say distributor, I am referring in this case to your typical main engine distributors. The breaker box on an Onan generator for example fires both cylinders at the same time though the one on exhaust stroke is a waste spark. This is an example of what you're talking about Larry.Big D wrote:....you can't fire two cylinders at once.....with a distributor.

I do believe that I had to set mine to 16 too, to get it to read close to my analog gauges.

Read some info on electronic forum where they talked about ppr and they not only counted the pulse spikes but also the spaces between------ on a crank trigger type they used a default of 60 ppr so that 16 number may not be far off---- their tech person should be able to say exactly what to use--- Mike
