knowing everyone loves photo's.....here's a summary of work done over the winter and a whole bunch of photo's

water heater repaired
cracked cabin glass replaced
y valve removed
overboard discharge removed and glassed
generator removed and intake glassed
new bow pulpit
pinstripe over boot stripe
pinstripe over cabin stripe
new flybridge graphics
aft vent louvres painted (couldn't get the intake louvres off so will have tackle this summer)
cockpit and toerail brightwork sanded and refinished
swim platform refinished
every interior inch scrubbed, cleaned, liners put in etc etc.....
bottom paint this week

For comparison, the toe rail and cockpit teak was painted brown like the flybridge ladder before

Oddly, she looks a lot like mine.

I'm on the hard right now too. Finally decided to take care of a few things that I wanted to do which are best done in warmer weather. Of course I pulled it on Sunday, and its been raining since, but thats ok, I'll get it done and then will be happy for doing it.

What am I doing? Oh, yeah, I could mention that I suppose.....

I am replacing cutlass bearings, having the shafts checked, repacking stuffing boxes, and I'll probably send both props out for the fun of it while I am doing the other stuff, though I am pretty sure they are in spec., I'll likely do it anyways while I have it out.

Unlike most of you June, July, and August are NOT the months I get the most use. My months with lots of time on the water are April, May, September, October, and November. Pulling it mid June is probably not the time most folks choose to do bottom work, but I'll be lucky to get 50 hours between now and Labor Day anyways with my crazy work schedule. (I know some folks get 50 hours in 2 seasons, but I get that in a month.)

Hi Nancy...

Not yet....after a lot of reflection, we're going to bring her to VT. (Actually saw your new boat at CM Monday - Michaels suggestion to check CM) Probably heading to Marble Island, I'll know Friday. Really wanted to go to North Hero but no slips avail.

No room at CM?

A little further north - have you checked Ladd's Landing at the north end of Grand Isle? Nice place; we know several people who keep their boats there. We kept our Grady White there in the mid-90's. Different management then. Eventually, we bit the $ bullet to have the boat closer to home.

Ladds is full, Saba Marine is full, The Moorings might have one spot, Marble Island has four spots, North Hero is full, New England Powerboat has a few spots but it isn't the nicest, Shelbourne is full, Charlotte in Town Hall Bay is full...gosh, if I could put a consortium together......opening a new marina would seem to make a great business proposition given what I understood about supply shortage and high demand

Wow, I had no idea. As much as Vermonters complain about the economy, this seems to defy that. For the past 3-4 years, the marinas have had some space. Far from empty, but space.

Have you ruled out the NY side?

I guess you'd better grab what you can and get on some waiting lists for next year.

Hey, back to F32'ss - in the last day, I've seen photos of two different 78's that have wood at the cockpit coaming as well as wood toe rails all the way to the bow. Before this, I'd never seen one with the cockpit coaming let alone the toerails. Any idea if this was factory standard or an option? We always assumed that the wood on our boat was added as an afterthought to cover holes from, say, removed downriggers. Now I'm wondering if our boat (I mean your boat - wtf- lol) had wood toerails, but they were removed.

I live in The Park. Its even crazier here. You have to appease the APA, DEC, and here where I am the LGPC in addition to your town and county planning boards. Then, if one of the half dozen special interest groups around here takes issue with either what you proposed or whomever approved it they tie you up in court for a decade or so. Charming I know. Thankfully I am as built out as I care to go with both the house and the dock, and don't need to worry much about those things.

Its mine, it was yours, for all intents and purposes its "ours", but the boat in question, "our" boat, I think had the wood added aftermarket as you suspected. Otherwise it would have the rail all the way forward as you suggested, and I have seen no evidence of anything having been removed. Either way, its kind of a nice addition, despite being a bit more to have to maintain. The ones that came that way from the factory are the 'special editions', whatever the hell that means. Trim package basically I guess.

All that crap is coming home this winter. The platform, the toe rails, all the trim, the steps to the bridge, and the boarding step, etc. The platform on the Nautique as well. Its gonna be assembly line teak resto for a couple weeks around here in January.

I think you're correct, it was a trim selection called "medallion" edition.

I've run into two or three of these, and I think there was a choice between cockpit teak and toe rail teak as a trim option. Nothing else special that I can discern from a standard boat. It also came with these on both sides of the aft panels....
