Some marine 318s have timing marks on the flywheel / bell-housing

two places one is through the bell housing under a rubber flap right below the distributor area the other is on the front of the engine at base of timing cover you will find a pointer, same as on autos. PF has seen many more of these and he would know that some do not come with the front one. I purchased two rebuilt 318s and they did not have the front ones, it was my opinion that the assemble just left them off as the rear one is adequate, the rubber covering flap was gone also. The flywheel is marked so you can time either a reverse or normal engine.
