Hi New F26 Owner

Post by Aviso Grille »

Hi, I just purchased a 1975 F26, I have been looking for a boat for sometime and thou shes not pretty I think we can bring her back to her 75 good old days. I was brave enouhg to drive her in Lake Erie on my maiden voyage, most though I was crazy, she was a champ. Had to re-fuel only once from Port Clinton to Ashtabula.
This is what I have right now; please correct me if I'm wrong;
Trojan F26 Hard Top
Chrysler 225
Fiberglass
Hull# is TRJ050930475

Im looking for any books or manuals, electronic media or not to purchase.

She needs the rudder fixed it seems to be a bit bent and the teak floor needs to go, its in bad shape, the rest seems ok, not leaks...

Any ideas, comments or things I should look into would be greatly appreciated, if you live in NE Ohio, I would like to meet some you guys.

Thanks
Phill

Congrats Phil-that had to be an interesting trip. I keep my F26 in Ashtabula (Brockway Northcoast), but didn't drop her in this year (spent the summer painting the house). Post here or drop me a note: h2oproof@hotmail.com if I can be of any assistance.

Cool Mike, happy to see there is another F26 around, I know the marina well, have a few friends there, might share what happened to me a few weeks ago.

Shes out of the water now, shes with Sutherland Marine, gonna have some work done on her and he came highly recommended thou I would like to do some stuff myself.

If you dont mind Ill be asking lot of question, the plan is to get her back to her 1975 glory.

Welcome aboard, mine is a 1976 E26 and I have restored everything. Did not give her the 70's look, made her a little more modern. I love the boat, if I can help in any way, just let me know

I haven't had a lot of work done by Sutherland-but what they have done has been done was professional, clean and timely. They came recommended by tthe guys at Brockway.
Brockway's not bad-but it's a real ride to the harbor\lake from there.
Where do you dock?

Phil,
Congratulations on your new boat, best of luck with her. I also have a 75 F-26, though mine is not a hard top. I've pretty much been through the whole boat since I've owned it. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask. It's a great boat, enjoy it

Hi,

Welcome and good luck with the new/old boat!

Sounds like you have some of the same issues I dealt with. I've been working on my '75 F26 for four years.

Here are past threads with photos about my deck replacement and rudder projects:
