engine rotation

Post by rspecops »

Still a bit of a newbie on inboard boats. Got to replace the starter. Got a 96 or 97 year model Crusader 350 XL. Just to confirm engine rotation so I order the correct starter, when the engine/transmission is in forward the shaft, prop etc. is rotating counter clockwise. Am I correct this is called "left hand rotation"??????

If you are looking at the prop from behind the boat and the prop is turning counter clockwise in forward gear then the engine is left hand rotation.

Careful. Some transmissions switch the rotation of the shaft. Best to base it on the actual engine rotation.
