F32 - '76 No windlass, No gen. Need to rebuild the bow pulpit. Spent most of last season and this season refinishing Teak, railings and replacing vinyl under and over most areas except F Bridge, that's next year. Anyone got any ideas as to cost (used / new) worth the expense or not. Love the boat, don't get a lot of use, but wife don't like pulling anchor.

I have the same boat down here in the cheseapeake Bay. We do have a windlass and I definetly think it is worth its weight in gold. As far as a generator, we do not have one but I just put in a 3000watt inverter. If you don not need to run AC/Heat a modified or pure wave inverter will run Tv, coffee maker, microwave or other small appliance loads. Its a fraction of the expense of a generator. Another great advantage is " its quiet". How long have you owned your F32?

Cost:
Anchor windlass: material 1k +/- labor
Inverter, wires and batteries 1k-2k depending on make and model

Note: Remember most inverters are not ingnition protected, therefore need to be mounted out of the engine compartment. I placed mine over on the port side cabinets under the salon windows.

This is our second year! We have done a lot of cleaning and refurbishing and still have a lot to do. Not a complaint in sight, we love what were doing. Just wish the season wasn't so short. What year is yours. Thanks for the info. Do you have the brand name for inverter.

I have the last 32 Trojan off of the production line. I had this confirmed with john from marine tech. I just got lucky with buying it that way. She has been a great boat with strong 350 crusaders. Put new stringers in her in 2007 winter and rebuilt the starboard engine. I would go with a Xantrex or pro-mariner. I would make sure its a modified or pure sine wave. This is a requirement to run motors. You could burn them up if not. I bought a AIMS 3000 watt model. There are a lot of nice models out there.

What do you plan on running with inverter?

How many batteries do you want to run? (ex..4-6volt golf carts)

How short is your season?

Do you have the 318 or 360 CID Chrysler? How many hours
