Dinette Seating question for the mid cabin guys.

does anyone happen to know if the dinette seat back sits on top of the seat base or is it supposed to extend down behind it? I thought it rested on top of the base but it seems a lot higher than i remember? i have it installed on top in this picture. Thanks

I can check mine. It does look high in the pic but maybe that's just the angle.
