before and after - work to date

Post by georgepet »

well.....as the season is almost over, here's some before and after pic of work done this summer......most of it relatively simple, but adds charm I think to the boat.

Equally, two shots of a paint scheme I'm considering for this winter.

So....this is what I began with last year.....really ignored teak, and some of it painted with house hold paint

A bunch of small weekend or four day projects

New side panels, lost one of the metal ones on the Hudson, and the original medallion, and replaced them with plexiglass and a new graphic somewhat faithful to the original

The cockpit teak was redone, and the swim ladder steps along with the swim platform - all of that is sikkens marine with gloss on top except for the swim ladder

minor head work, simply added a frame to what was just a slab of mirror glass
mirror frame....next year I'll have to change the mirror, but that will come with replacing the wall paper in behind first, probably with a teak veneer

Will be redoing the forward hatches this winter, the teak, and changing the white lenses to dark lenses.

the interior is pretty much ok, will be changing the galley counter, counter in the head, and adding a bunch of courtesy lights.....by the time that's done, I figure it'll be time for an engine rebuild......

cheers

Wow looking good.

I really like the blue hull.

I have a neighbor who has a beige 80s Chris Craft and he painted the hull blue and everything else white and it looks really sharp.

Thanks all for the kind comments....,,,

For nancy, we were at money's bay this year, but looking to change for next season.

As concerns the fwd hatches, I'm removing them this winter redoing the teak and likely replacing the lenses.

Am in the midst of finishing four drawers under the galley table, will send pics when done.

Cheers all
