Todd, I just replied on your swim platform post and will have measurements today. I'm sorry to hear the bad news. If I lived a lot closer, I'd be more than happy to lend you a hand to get her ready for April. I hope all goes well until then.
Take care,
Mike

Mike and Bob ,
Thank you so much for the help with the measurements, cant tell you how much help that was!!!!!
Bob I spoke with the machine shop on Friday. I had told him I wasnt in a rush to get them at the Beginning of summer so he a has been storing them to work on during his slow time. He said he will get them done late November or early December. I still have to do the state room (currently gutted) and about 4 pages of other stuff but at least the list is getting shorter.

Good to hear, you must be going crazy with the shutdown. Take it easy, better to be a few weeks behind than have a setback. It's still only December...

Well I'm doing the best I can to move forward with my one arm! Found a local upholstery guy on craigs list and figured I'd give him a try since the local upholstery shops I've previously contacted never got back to me. I met with him today and was impressed. seemed to really know his stuff and has been doing marine seats and canvas for over 10 yrs. Got a price to recover both helm seats (with new vinyl board bottoms instead of plywood) for $400 each and another $400 for the cockpit coaming pads (im reducing the width down to about 4 inches and am only doing across the stern and up the sides to where the radar arch attaches). He also gave me a budget number of about $1500 to recover all of the dinette and aft cabin cushions. Thought that was a pretty good price when you look at how many cushions there are.

Have been looking for ideas for the vinyl helm seats and I stumbled across these. I had seen them in the past but remembered the prices a lot higher than they actually are?

I am now playing with the idea of simply replacing the entire seats rather than rebuilding the structure of the originals and recovering. Looking for some opinions from you guys?
The first is only $343 each plus shipping. the back "flip-flops so you can face forward or backwards. not sure how the powdercoat and aluminum will hold up long term in salt water?

This one is made by Todd industries and is somewhere around $450

if you go "new" please do not throw those old seats out.

I bought a Singer walking foot sewing machine last year and aim on doin some 'sparamentin.

Something you might consider as well.

Fabric is NOT expensive.

I have been looking at that same flip - flop style helm seat and really like it especially for the price. My PO removed all the original seating and I now have a single helm chair on a pedestal. Please post lot's of pictures if you get one of these as this is definitely on my list of projects for the year. Would you add a forward/aft slide to this?

Not sure which direction I'm taking with the helm seats yet? I like the look of the factory seats but the new ones with the movable backs look pretty nice. wish I could see them in person or at least installed on a trojan!
Harris, I havent thrown anything out yet. My plan was to gather up everything at the end of this escapade and see if anyone here needs anything. I have alot of silly stuff like new replacement fittings for the original water system, the original barrel style sea cocks and alot of other misc old stuff that people may be able to use. only problem is that its hidden all over my shop! need to do a roundup!

Here's something "fun to try" using just one arm! Remove all of the upholstery buttons from all of your dinette cushions, take the foam out, use stain remover and a scrub brush on all stains, wash two at a time in washing machine, line dry overnight, wrap each with plastic, use a home made hook to pull the string for each button through and re-attach buttons them zipper!!!
