Rebording ladder
Want to add a folding Teak ladder to my swim platform. Have seen these on a few older boats. If anyone has plans, pictures, website info or even an old used set I would be most thankful.
Season is short, we make the best of it.
Re: Rebording ladder
Would this ladder be used to egress from the water to the platform or from the platform to the cock pit ?
While not a Trojan F-32, I have a double ladder on our Silverton that works pretty good.

Scott, That's the functionality I am looking for. Just want to have it done in Teak! Thanks

They are from Chris Crafts, but something along these lines?

Or just google 'teak folding ladder" and go to the Images view and you will see a bunch of examples.

Re: Rebording ladder
I have a teak boarding ladder which came from a Trojan. Not sure if I'll keep it or not...it should look like this.

Away,
The ladder on the Silverton has a stainless tube frame with teak steps on the upper portion. it is substantially smaller in mass than a complete wood ladder without giving up anything in use. I have finished all of the teak with Cetol, looks pretty good.

Re: Rebording ladder
Jamie, exactly what I am looking for. Is this off an F32. If so any idea of the total length when extended and the distance from transom to outer edge of swim platform. Thanks

Away,
I have a teak ladder that came off of my 1975 F-32. I will sell it cheap. It is complete with brackets and hinges. Let me know if your interested. Rick

Rick, Can you provide a picture or 3 and any idea of the weight, so I can get a shipping quote. Thanks

Re: Rebording ladder
We had one like the ladder Jamie posted on the '77 F-32 that was around when I was a kid. The problem with it was that for boarding the platform from the water only a small amout of the fold down section actually reached the lake. I think the style scott posted on his Silverton probably does a bit better of a job extending down into the water.

Re: Rebording ladder
Thanks Commissionpoint, That is something to keep in mind. Our need is to balance getting out of the water, vs getting over the transom railing and onto the back deck, with young kids and old people.

Re: Rebording ladder
My F32 has a tube folding ladder with teak steps that looks original, I think. It is nice because it folds up next to the transom but when deployed it goes down 4 steps which makes boarding very easy. Sorry that the photo is not a great view, but it is all I have right now.

Re: Rebording ladder
It came off a Tricabin 36. I haven't taken measurements but here is a similar set up on another Trojan.Away On Busine$$ wrote:Jamie, exactly what I am looking for. Is this off an F32. Re: Rebording ladder
This is the same as Comodave's. It works great getting out of the water. Three steps go under water.
