I think you have done a terrific job, I am inspired. I have that Trojan vinyl wall covering on the walls of my1978 F 30. I once tried removing it, it does not come off. Has anyone painted over it? If yes, what prep was done and what paint wsa used? The current vinyl is so dingy looking after seeing this refinished head. Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.
I took off some of the vinyl on the bulkhead. It was still very well bonded to the bulkhead. I used a heat gun to soften up the contact cement that Trojan used. After 34 years it was still a bear to get off. I have used vinyl upholstery paint on some headliner on a previous boat. Worked well. I do not recall the brand, but I found it online and just followed the directions exactly.

Briand, I used rustoleum semi gloss spray paint. I first wiped down the walls with acetone to degrease. It seems to adhere pretty well. Time in the hot sun will tell. I know there are vinyl paints that act as a primer allowing you to paint over with whatever color you want. VHT and Rustoleum are two brands. But there are others.
