1971 F31 generator question

Just a foot note, not only the genset but "all electrical" components on the engine must be marine type. Even thought automotive will bolt on and do the job the danger is always present of fuel vapor in the engine compartment. I had an alternator go out thought I could by a Marine one from auto zone they couldn't order the marine version but tried to sell me an automotive one. Had to educate the store manager as to why he doesn't want to do that.

Don't run a portable genset on deck all the fumes will end up in the boat .
