Cabin door/hatch cover

Post by NealW »

Hello, I'm new to the forum. I recently purchased a 1980 F26. I am looking for the hatch cover that goes over the entry door (it was missing when I got the boat). I would like to find a used one, but any pictures or plans would also be helpful.

Thanks!

Welcome Neal. Try calling Beacon. You can most likely fabricate one from either teak (original one on my 77 is teak) or check to see any posts about parting out a Trojan. There was one here a week or two ago, but I'm not sure of the model. Are the tracks in place for the sliding top?

Hi Randy,
Thanks for the welcome & reply. There is no hardware at all. Do you have any idea where I could get the hardware? I wasn't sure if was sliding or hinged. Knowing that yours is sliding helps to get me started.

Thanks,
Neal

I don't or can't remember how to post pictures here but you can email me and I'll send you a couple of shots that show our door hatch - nothing you can make a design from but will give you a good idea of how the '77 26 is set up.[/img]

Welcom Neal,
You might want to give Marine Tech a call: (717) 684-4145. They might be able to assist. I can try and take photos and measurments off of mine when I can get to the boat. Probably won't be until this Sat. Good luck,
Matt

I tried Joe but he didn't have the parts. I'm now thinking it would be easier to get used one. If anyone knows of any other boat salvage yards that might have a F26 I would appreciate it.

Thanks,
Neal

Neal,
I came across a guy on e-bay with several 1977 F26 parts. He may have the sliding hatch available. The contact name was Joe @ 732-581-7030. He has an e-bay store called Cheap Boat Parts Warehouse. Good luck!

Thanks for the info Brent. Aaron is going to his boat yard today to see if he has anything. Hopefully he'll find something I can use.
