air conditioner question again!
I have a F36 that the previous owner installed a King wire 19K unit.
Not even close to cooling the boat. I asked before about this and forgot the answer.
Some of you have two air conditioners?
I'm not worried about figuring out the return air or how to run the duct-Just what size would I need in addition to the one I have. also Should I stay away from ebay-they have some used ones that show up once in awhile.
Just hate to go out and pay another 2K or more for another unit.
what size is the factory install on these boats. Has to be atone at least 30K
thanks

Re: air conditioner question again!
The early years with duel A/C units used 2 12K units for a total of 24000 btu. Later they went to a 8k and a 16k for same 24000 total btu . not sure what the ones with 1 A/C had .

I need something but I don't know. Maybe I will stick another 12K in there-side by side underneath the dining seat.
I have the whole winter to come up with the solution plus I have it stored inside for the winter which makes it great.

Re: air conditioner question again!
All over 1 evaporator in the V birth 1 in the dinette 1 in the salon left of the fridge , they are all from 1 unit . The other unit has one evaporator just to the right of the helm . Mine use remote evaporators . so the out put and return are in the same area .
How are yours set up ? I assume you have a self contained unit .

Mine is installed under the dinette seat which backs up to the lower steering console.
The return air is just a grilled opening underneath the seat near ones foot and the cold air register is just to the left of the console facing the salon area and another small register facing inside the dinette area.Air is cold but not very powerful for a 19K unit.
Even if you closed the cockpit door and all windows for 24 hrs it does not cool the salon area.
thanks.

Re: air conditioner question again!
A correctly installed 19k unit should do better then that . At night I only need one 12k and it has no issues Frist make sure its really a 19k unit . then I would have the install of it looked at to make sure it is done correctly and working to spec .
Adding a 6-8k unit to the salon area would help during the day and should be plenty if the 19k unit is up to stuff . However getting cool air to the v berth could be a issue ( open door and a fan would do it )
Do you have some pics of the unit and the outlets and return ?

Next time there I will take a pic of the unit-and the control faceplate.
