Will,

I should have added that I will bring along the original owner's manual and a can of Watco so you can see for yourself. Watco is what Trojan recommends in the owners manual.

interior wood

Post by aaronbocknek »

the odd thing about the salon window cover boards was they are in perfect condition.... they just were covered in fabric.... needless to say, i like the look and feel of the natural wood. if only i could get the wood over the dinette to look as good, but, the huge staples the previous owners used makes it unusable without the fabric.
damm shame too.... i wanted to expose all the wood on the boat.

Staples in overhead

Don't give up on the staple holes, you can fix then and on one will ever know they are there. Find a paint store that carters to commercial painters. take a piece of wood that is stained the color you want. Remember, all of the interior wood is stained before it is oiled or varnished. the paint store can mix stain to match yours. Then buy some natural wood filler, ask the paint guy. Fill holes, fair and stain, no one will ever know.

Always use the best products you can get on your boat. If you do not, you will spend time redoing or touching up while you could be out using your boat. If you are adding a pice of wood to your boat you can do the same as above. Try this in any area that is out of the line of sight when you inter the cabin. That way you can see if you need to lighten or darken your stain.

Try it, you'll like it.
