74 Tricabin power

Looking for info on shore power. Appears I have two. One on lower deck stbd side. Another on the port side of wheel.

Is there a main power breaker? The only one I see so far is in bilge with generator.

I wish I could help, but I do not know my way around a tri-cab.

I have an F-32 hardtop and I have 2 shore power connections on the starboard side in the cockpit. They run to the kick-panel under the helm. They are laid out as 2x30A services to give you 60 total amps (but I think the main breaker is limited to 50A.

If you only have 1 30A service on shore, there is a crossover breaker and if you activate it, you will bridge the two together and have 30A servicing the whole boat.

My previous boat has a shore connector on each side, but it was indented to be ambidextrous so you weren't limited to which side you had to pull up to the slip.

the 1972 tri cabin i grew up with had the duel 30A service. onboard hookups were located in the aft cockpit port and starboard. the main breaker is on the electrical panel in the salon, at least that's how our setup was. standard house hold panel and breakers along with genset cutover and crossover switches. it's a good idea to just sit and look it over. not sure how your vessel was wired, but, trojan did a pretty good job with the original breaker panel(s). then again, you never know what the previous owner did. that's sometimes more scary than anything.

Ok I'm off to a good start. I just have to find the breaker panel in salon. I think is behind the siding cabinet doors on the same side power is coming in.

I have a 73 Tri cabin that is nearly original. Aaron and the Trojan experts on this forum have been a great help over the years for me. Maybe it's my turn to help out too now. I sent you a note with my email if you need any manual info, or have questions on where things are I'm happy to help.

I have port and starboard shore power connections 30amp each at the aft deck side panels below the gunnel on each side.

Be nice to see pics of what you have gotten yourself into.

Many of the early F36 (tri and conv) had what looked like a second system was added on . Could have been done at the factory as needed for added ons like dual A/C heat etc or at the dealer . Also may have been up graded by a owner later on . I have up graded a few myself to dual 30 amp

here is my advice to you. slide every panel open. open every drawer and hatch. get to know your boat. the breaker panel that you mentioned SHOULD be on the starboard side, behind the sliding panel in the salon as you go down the steps to the aft stateroom. even though i grew up with the tri cabin, ENTERPRISE was 'new to me' and after i purchased her, i spent several days just crawling around and familiarizing myself with her. the more you know about your boat, the better off you will be. it's also advantageous to grab a pad of paper and a pen and just take notes. the 74 is not that different than the 72 i grew up with. let me know if i can be of assistance.
on a final note, one thing that you MUST be aware of is the dry rot issues pertaining to the aft cabin bulkhead and the aft deck. dad had the bulkheads replaced once by trojan bout 5 years after we took ownership (delivered to our specs from the factory) and again shortly before selling her in 2006. he also had the entire aft deck replaced, again, due to dry rot.

Thanks for the info. Previous owners have had the bulkhead and deck replaced.
I have posted pics on photobucket under tri cabin. Right now I'm working on building an enclosure for the cockpit.
Any ideas would be great.

Next question does anyone know where or have a pic of fuel shutoff/cross connect system?

If you have a hull number you may be able to order an Owners Manual from Beacon that I think would have wiring diagrams, info on plumbing and fuel system, steering system, etc...
