Re: 74 Tricabin. Batteries
I will have to check on that next time I'm on the boat.
We tie up to fill our batteries and check our fuel.

Re: 74 Tricabin. Batteries
Menards has Exide group 27 Deep Cycle batteries for $85, and group 24 starting batteries for $62. I have been using the starting batteries for quite a few years now and they have been decent. I use them in the truck to power the winch and other accessories too.
I used to use the deep cycles to power an AC pass-through inverter. No complaints but I acquired several AGM fork lift batteries to use instead.

Re: 74 Tricabin. Batteries
Thanks for the input. I'm thinking the group 27's will be good. One for each engine and one for genny. Defender has them for $139 ea.
Took a look at genny today. It's a 6.5k. I see something that looks like a starter solenoid. But nothing that looks like a starter?

Re: 74 Tricabin. Batteries
Another option for batteries is costco, the group 27 kirkland batteries in Canada are always fresh and made by Johnson controls as I understand which has been good for me.....group 24 for the genny, and three 27's for the engines and house...all of them were under a hundred each....Mike

Understand 24 for genny.
How are batteries set up on engines?
One grp 27 to start each engine.
What's the house battery hooked to?

Re: 74 Tricabin. Batteries
Our boat is set up from what I can figure is the factory setup which is one battery for the starboard and one battery for the port with the extra battery in parallel with the port side as that is where the house is fed from.....for us this has been ok as we have the generator and have changed all the 12v lighting to leds etc....

Re: 74 Tricabin. Batteries
That is just how our boat is, there are many much better ways of doing what you want, as already mentioned the 2x6 volt are definitely better than 1x12v for the house if you have the room...I am fairly 12v challenged that is why I try to keep it as simple as possible...Mike
