What a great weekend we had here in Ottawa!
I finally got to the boat to look at it and start working in her. I made a survey of all through hulls from the outside and started to ascertain their condition from the inside. I came across 2 interesting items.
First, the 2 scuppers on the v-drive cooling system. The seacocks are a bit unusual(to me) and I don't understand how they work. Bellow is a picture

There are, what looks like, 2 valves on it. One on both ends plus a drain plug. Can some erudite person explain to me their usage?
I also noticed from the picture that the valve cover looks bent. Unfortunately, I noticed this later at home while looking at the pictures. I will have to investigate further...
The second item is this valve located just aft of the generator just where the AC unit would be mounted. It's white and round. Nothing else to say about it really...
What is it?

Nice pic there.....the handle on the right side of the pic is the open and close to operate the valve and the one on the left is a lock,you back that off and put the valve in the position you want and then lock it in that position....Mike
That second one is not a valve.. it looks like a through-hull someone has just capped or sealed. I don't see anything there that convinces me it is thoroughly waterproofed, so would want to see what is on the hull outside underneath it. It almost looks like that metal strip has two bolts that might reach down through some kind of plate or something that is just being held against the hull under water. What's on the other side?

Like I was saying, I noticed an area on the hull that looked humid while the surroundings were bone dry. The area is flush with no protrusions. That was curious to me so I took note of the location and this was the insides...
Any suggestions for options? I know I can fill it up and probably will but just in case you have another idea.
When boat on hard it is a good time to disassemble the seacock you have and lubricate with silicon grease so you can have ease of operation in an emergency.

So I did a bit more investigation. Pretty sure it's not the bilge magnet... It might be the portal though I'll drop something in it this weekend an check my clothes dryer at home for a connection
Difficult to translate "I noticed an area on the hull that looked humid while the surroundings were bone dry. The area is flush with no protrusions." without seeing a picture.
Looking humid may mean a repaint in that spot was simply done while the rest of the bottom did not get paint. Perhaps a previous owner has gooped a crapload of epoxy or glass mat + epoxy over an opening, resulting in things looking different from below, but still keeping it flush? But that doesn't make it a proper seal. A real seal should be more than a few mils thick.
If this is an improperly sealed through hull, suggest digging and vacuuming out any loose stuff you can from above (in the bilge). Then get some West System epoxy and mix enough (it may take a few applications) to just dump in and fill the void. That will give you a rock solid seal, up to 1"thick epoxy, tied to the hull structure.
Almost looks as though the seacock may have been left closed during a previous winter without having been drained. This would have caused the water inside to expand when it froze thus pushing the cover plate out. I'd have a close look at that now, it'll be too late once she's in the water.
The other item might be a plug where a transducer used to be at one time.
She was a 1969 36 ft wooden beauty with big blue 440s that we'll miss forever.

I would look at that seacock and take a close look at the hull where that plug or patch is ... a real close look

hi christian. whatever you do, DO NOT use a wrench to turn the T handle. in 2006 a mechanic tried to do that to mine on my f-32 and the handle broke close to the seacock. a***hat. needless to say, it sped up the replacement of them. glad i did though. these are the original groco valves and can be notoriously finicky, at least from my experience. it is best that they be 'exercised' monthly to move freely. if the valve handle (the tall thin one) does not move after you loosen the T handle, do not force it. the valve handle can snap off. what i've done in the past, and what my dad used to do, is LIGHTLY tap the end piece with a rubber mallet. sometimes the rubber valve inside gets stuck and needs a little bump to move. thought i'd add my thoughts to the thread.

Hey Christian, when I saw your post I ran out to my boat and had a look see. I can imagine no two are alike but I snapped a couple pics of mine.
On the same side as the generator, forward of it, I have this. It is a brass dome over a standard round through hull
On the same side as the AC I have this contraption, and this style of through hull
