Need Advice on Boat Disposition
Hello All...
New to the Forum but wanted to solicit advice on the best way to dispose of my 363 Tri Cabin. I originally bought it as a project boat, got way in over my head, and I guess I just have to stop the bleeding. It's in disrepair, the engines still run though they have been winterized for two years. I tried to donate to charity, but they told me it doesn't have enough value to warrant the cost of transport. I will put it on craigslist or E-bay for free if I have to just to be done with it. Do you all think it would be worth it to dry dock it and part it out? I know it's hard to find parts these days... Any thoughts?

Re: Need Advice on Boat Disposition
Parting the boat out will minimize the cost of disposal, plus you'll be helping a bunch of other boaters. If you have the time and energy to part the boat out, it's probably your best approach.

Re: Need Advice on Boat Disposition
Try to sell it or give it a way complete , Once you get rid some parts you won't be able to give it away . and the cost of disposal will be costly .

Re: Need Advice on Boat Disposition
Upon checking with various land fills there are two ways they charge, by weight and by volume. By weight is pretty cheap here. You just have to carry it to a dump, they weigh, then they charge you 25 or so to drag if off the trailer (assuming you have one). My f28 will cost about 150 and they will grind if up with their big machine using weight. using volume about 1500. I have stripped it and I am lucky as I have a guy that wants it to make a nautical extra bedroom for his daughter that lives in Florida. But if he changes his mind will take it to weight landfill. I would suggest calling the local landfills to your area and check.

Re: Need Advice on Boat Disposition
nooooooooooooo brad is anything but history. he's the one that actually LOVES the boat and enjoys my 'hobby'. PHIL was the one who HATED the boat. well, loved it until he realized that there was more to it than just casting off and heading out. nope. phil is the anchor that was tossed overboard.larryeddington wrote:nope, brad is history, I think.
