Cuisair w/ analog "dial" controls

Post by gitchisum »

Anyone with these type of controls, I have 3 dials and the top one is OFF, START, RUN.

When I started my air today, I turned the unit to START and water was flowing through, annd my fan was running. I waited about 30 seconds and turned it to run, could hear the compressor kick in the air turned cooler. So I think it is all working well.

My question is, is there a designated amount of time I should have it in start, before switching to run? These are new to me and I don't want to ruin anything.

Thanks for any advice.

I alway just verify the water is coming out then switch to run. I don't know if this is right but after 5 years I haven't had any problems.

Just give it a second or 2 . It just to reduce the power surge . I rewired mine so the water pump is only on when the compressor is on . ( this is ok with Cruisair )

my childhood tri cabin had these as does mine now. okay, no bells and whistles and digital readouts, but they work. i always wait a count of 10 to go from start to run. when switching from run to start, i usually count to 20 then turn the unit off. it's what dad taught us so i just keep doing it. not sure if it makes a difference, but i do it anyway.
