F32 captains chair ideas for lower helm

Post by Bear »

Just bought a 1986 f32 I'm looking to put a comfortable post type seat for the lower helm but it looks like this would end up on the engine cover or in the way of it I thought of a removable one where the base is bolted to the cover any ideas thanks

I have a hard top, so I don't have a choice....

I thought of using a pedestal mount, but as you said it could interfere with opening the engine hatch. I am using a base with legs and it is chained to the floor. I will try to grab some pics later today.

I saw pilot boat chairs with 4 legs and some with 6 I'm worried that it won't be stable in rough seas how does yours do maybe some recessed eyes in the floor and some ratchet tie downs you can undo them move the chair to get in the engine or am over thinking this I would like to see those pics thanks

There is a "U" bolt sticking up through the floor. The seat has a length of chain at the top of the base that runs down to the u-bolt with a quick disconnect. It stays in pace in the roughest of seas.
