Georgian Bay or Simcoe Rendezvous - 2016??

Post by tdogg »

Good day,

We are located in south end of Lake Simcoe, but would be interested in a Trojan Rendezvous in Simcoe or Georgian Bay.

Is there an annual South Ontario Trojan Rendezvous?

If there is interest, we could setup a poll for where and see if we could put something together.

Limited response 2 years ago, but I am interested. Located at Lagoon City. Will check to see if marina interested in some sort of sponsorship. Retired so dates don't really matter.

Hi Away,

sounds good. I'm out of Lefroy.

Orillia might be a good meeting point?

I think it's a good idea, but may have to participate by car... Don't think I can really afford the 4-5 days travel each way and $4 grand on fuel for the round trip to come by boat!

Hi Cap! Ever think of moving the boat. Great place only a 2.5 hour drive, you can't find a better place to start from! I might be biased.

After retirement maybe, but Thousand Islands are more likely than Lake Simcoe (ie move out there, get a place on the water, and downsize to a nice antique launch!). With the boat being within 30 minutes of the house today I can't get down there as often as I would like (and spend much of my time cleaning it instead of enjoying it when I am there). If 2.5 hours away, I am never gonna be able to use it.

Actually - this is kinda funny... Boat was purchased from Dawson's on Lake Simcoe when new. Owner brought it down to Niagara area. Then it went back up to Lake Simcoe. It was at Lefroy when I bought it (think I am the third owner), and brought it back down to Lake Ontario. Boat has done the bottom half of the Trent at least 3 times, just with 2 or 3 different owners.

Just after you retire, bring it backup, complete the lower Trent then downsize. Don't think you will regret it. Hope for you!

+1

Love it up hear. Moved from Toronto 4 years ago. I'm very luck as I work from my home office/clients sites, so I'm able to make my own schedule. Planning to have some client meetings and account planning sessions aboard the boat this season :D
