Sealand Vacuflush issue

Well, here's more Vacuflush talk.

Last fall, my single vacuflush unit was not holding its vacuum and would re-pump after a thirty second pause.

This spring I had the marina install new duck bill valves.

Yesterday when I finally got out for the spring shake down day cruise there was absolutely no improvement.

But when the vacuum generator is pumping, I can stand in the head and hear a high whistling sound of air escaping.

The toilet bowl is holding its water.

Thoughts??

Give this a try.....shaving foam the joints that you can find to see where the vac leak is ....that sound is air being sucked in to the piping so the foam will be as well.....check the bottom of the bowl as well, same way one at a time ......you should find it if you can hear it, hopefully it is on the outside where you can access it....fyi my system held vacuum all winter till the first use from last november.

One more thing ,if you find a small leak at a fitting, before you rip it apart try some seal all, wonderful stuff will seal up oil pans, pressure line fittings....worth a try for a few bucks.

Probably a leaking floor flange seal if discharge is through the floor or a leaking ball shaft seal. The shaving cream spray idea works good. You'll need to remove the base cover to access these areas and the bowl and base to replace the floor flange seal. If it drains through the floor but the hiss sounds like it's coming from above the floor, it's likely the ball shaft. Check these areas and the discharge hose connection at the head. If it discharges through the floor, you'll need to remove the flange to check the hose connection underneath unless you have access by some other means.
