Re: Leaky "10G" Plumbing Fittings
I have found that with the "QUEST" brand I have been able to replace, and interchange any fittings I have on my 78 F-32. I buy mine at my local Lowes.

replaced everything today! 1/2 pex and sharkbite fittings. pretty easy for the most part (getting through the stringer to the hot water heater took some time!) just under $300 for everything at Home Depot.

By the way, as stated earlier HD is limited on 3/8 fittings. Decided to run 1/2 to everything except the supply for the head (too tight for 1/2 ) added valves and will use standard flex conections to tie into the faucets.

Nice work man. I like the red/blue color scheme. I started with just 2 pieces of the pre-cut white, but I'm going to mimic your work. Those shark bite fitings are nice, huh?yorklyn wrote:replaced everything today! 1/2 pex and sharkbite fittings. pretty easy for the most part (getting through the stringer to the hot water heater took some time!) just under $300 for everything at Home Depot.
Thanks, like I said, going to do the same thing you're doing. I want to get a couple of other projects behind me first, but hope to finish by April 30. I know it doesn't take that long, but I have a laundry list of things I wanted to finish 2 weeks ago.yorklyn wrote:big ralph,

Use Shark bite and are at HD and Lowe's they worked fine on the 1/2 pipe and pex.

Looks great. I have found all the fittings and o-rings for the white tubing at a local RV store. Apparently RV's use the same stuff.

The red and the blue tubes color is an awesome combination.yorklyn wrote:replaced everything today! 1/2 pex and sharkbite fittings. pretty easy for the most part (getting through the stringer to the hot water heater took some time!) just under $300 for everything at Home Depot.
I just have a question, what tool did you use to make a whole that can be found in the 4th picture?
Thanks
Re: Leaky "10G" Plumbing Fittings
That hole is from the factory. It's below the sink in the head. This picture was before I replaced the drain hose. The elongated hole made it much easier to run the new hose with a tight radius to the thru hull fitting. I believe
That hole was cut with a router and a template. You should be able to mimic it by drilling two holes with a hole saw and connecting them with a jig saw.

Todd:
Every time I see photos of your boat and the detail you put into her refit, I realize how much better she is today than the day she was first delivered as a new vessel.
I do not believe that the essentially NEW boat in your building, outfitted as she is could be replaced for $100,000.
If I am wrong, someone needs to point out why.

Re: Leaky "10G" Plumbing Fittings
Thanks Harris! I've been looking at boats online (yes I know I'm clinically insane!) Just trying to get a feel for what the market is. It amazes me to see 13 meter express boats going for 50-60k and newer 23 ft center consoles going for 60-70k! Just saw a new 2016 33ft sea ray on boat trader for $361,753.00!!!!!!!! For a assembly line boat with a 10'6 beam who's "modern styling" will be dated in just a few years.
Now if my 10meter only had Yanmars! Lol!

Re: Leaky "10G" Plumbing Fittings
Not to hijack the thread, but as someone involved with the Christmas boat parade here on the canals of SW Florida, it's easy to notice that the trend for boats kept behind the house, (in the water or on a lift) over the past 15 years or so has been to smaller, more efficient boats, primarily outboards with LOA under 30'
While we still see the large sailboats, trawlers and cruisers, this size range seems to be overtaken by the under 30' crowd.
More day boats, less with overnight accommodations.
If yours had the Yanmars, it would be even more sad to see her sit, however, once you actually stood at the helm and ran her, you would be absolutely hooked.
Again, sorry for the hijack.
