I don't know how you guys do it. I couldn't imagine not enjoying the boat for 6-7 months or at least being able to go down and tinker with it. Here in Pensacola, Jan. and Feb. are about the only time boating isn't feasible. The other winter months do give us some good weekends, if the winds are down.
But I'm sure you have other recreational things you do that we, down here, don't get to enjoy.

We install a ziper door into the shrink wrap so that we can get in thru the winter. With a couple of ceramic heaters we do projects all winter. It's just like working in a green house.

We wrap things up here in Mid October because our lake level is controlled by a dam and they open the gates right around that time. Then, it's haul the boat, haul the docks (we're in a coop YC with 115 slips and do everything with member-power) and start on the winter list of repairs, improvements, etc. Spend each day checking out the forum and getting ideas on how to make the mighty Blue Heron even better! This winter it's refurbishing the anchor platform and "maybe" making ready to install a winch. The cellar workshop is full of boat stuff, batteries, etc, so there's always plenty to tinker with.
