The right location is at home , But if you going to do it anyway I would think the swim platform would be the only place to put it and the hot dry exhaust pointed away from the boat . closed transom for sure

No swimming around the boat when running ( goes for built in also ) This has been a big issue that has cause several deaths

As far as a issue with a built in (marine ) gen gone bad causing issues thats true too . and that goes for the Main engines as well . Fear factor no Safety factor yes.

I take safety of my family Very seriously. Not trying to start the genset war ( again) , But I will never keep quiet on safety . :D

And with 2kw may as well use a inverter as it won't power much.

I with on the safety part, no issues there. I would likely run it on the platform, during the day. 2k will charge the batts, run the micro or stove (not at once) and maybe a 12k AC unit.

I don't know if I would even do that but it was in the back of my mind.

Lumpy wrote:Yes, I went with the top discharge. I need to really get up in there to investigate the duck work coming down. My original unit "Lunaire" had a 6x12 rubber boot connecting the unit to the "ceiling" which really isn't the ceiling but the top of the area it's in. I'm thinking I might be able to just drop flex duck work right down on it. I"ll let you know what happens. I'll try to take some pics so you can compare.
