I do believe that Paul is right on the money with 100 hr oil changes, even if synthetic oil is used. Synthetic oils boast extended oil change intervals however the more hours of operation on the oil, the higher the percentage of contaminants in the oil. This can affect the engine weather it's used year round or winter stored. I choose synthetic oil over conventional oil because of it's ability to retain it's viscosity, higher shear values, etc.
