I just ran my boat about 80 miles at 8.5 mph. Got about 1 mpg. Ran it back at 20 mph for about 55 miles (direct route) and ran about .5 mpg (needs a tune up). Enjoyed the trip up. I wish I was retired and could spend the time to go slow more often.

The F32 that I run I've found that at an easy cruise (2600 rpm) the farther I stuff the trim tabs, the more speed I gain.......but it's a handful to wheel it around with the bow that low

Ok, lets fess up here! who has been enjoying themselves, cruising along at their "Hull Speed" and had one of those dam sailboaters just "blow" on by them with no regard to their wake or all that darn wind-noise from their sails!!!!

Not passed by any sailboats but lots of small runabouts on plane!
I'm running at 1500 rpm and around 8/9 mph and getting 2.13 mpg on the port engine... As we've been anchoring out so much the Genny has been running of the starboard tank so throws off the numbers... Just halve that for corrected total engine consumption.
24 days duration, 12 destinations, 91.8 miles, 43.14 gals on port tank, 14.8 hrs running, 14.7 gals est: on Genny.
Maybe I need to slow down a touch to squeeze out a bit better efficiency...... Nah, I like that speed!

Ready , where you running on 1 engine or or both ? If both you were really getting about 1.07 mpg if I am reading it correctly . bring down the speed to around 6-7 mph would bring up the numbers for sure , But if you like 8-9 carry on

.

I ran 8.5 at about 8.5 mpg. I calculated hull speed based on about a 35 foot waterline. I probably still ran too fast.

Close call I getting ready to pull out the diesels .
Bring it down to 7 knots and I bet the mpg goes way up .
On paper (diesel calulator ) @9 knots 2.0 mpg @7 knots over 3.5 mpg , I will be trying this in real life soon .
