Hi all and thanks to all of you with the kind words an encouragement. I haven't been on the site much and it really has nothing to do with the Silverton, January and February have been very busy months for work and we have had other events on the weekends and I outside of work, I just haven't spent a lot of time behind the keyboard.

We did the sea trial this past weekend and there were some engine issues, mostly due to the lack of use, flooding carburetor and a dead battery, , however, I met the owner, who seems "ok" , we limped home on one engine when the starboard engine kept dying from flooding. He called his mechanic who met us on the dock when we returned and after the mechaincs inpsection determned the carbs needed reubuilt, and one fuel pump showed signs of leaking. His records showed the rebuild of about 5 years and less than 150 hours ago, but the mechanic said it was time to replace the risers and elbows, the owner replied, "do what ever it needs"
I learned from the broker yesterday that carbs are being rebuilt and exhausts have already been replaced, batterys changed... we are hoping this is the "SILVER LINING" to selling the Trojan and the redemption of a less than perfect sea trial.

Silver Lining is the front runner for the name of the boat ...

we took some parts we had at home for LARK to the new owners on Sunday, boy, she is a nice looking little 32, the new owners love her and I miss her!

Sounds like all good news Scott.

Now if you REALLY MISS THE TROJAN it's time to scrape those Silverton logos off and replace them with out helmet !

well,

I wrote the check today for the 37 Silverton, as you can see, she was hauled today for survey, sea trial went well, all in all, she's a nice boat. The PO ended up replacing all manifolds risers and elbows, fuel pumps, raw water pumps. tune ups with caps, wires plugs etc.
Also have new batteries including the generator, two new bilge pumps and a new fresh water pump. why you ask? there were issues with each during the first sea trial, the owner said it was less expensive and faster to just replace everthing than paying the mechanic 100.00 an hour to trouble shoot and repair these items. I loved his logic!

Congratulations! You gotta love people with those kind of theory's huh? Good luck with the new boat. Very happy for you.

Congrats Scott , Sounds like it worked out real well . Did it come with a free Yak ?

Well done Scott. Looks like a nice clean bottom for a warm saltwater boat. Let me know when you are ready to deal with the oxidation on the green sections. I know what to use on that which will make it like new again.

Yes it did, it's a tandem, the kids will like for sure, there was supposed to be a dingy and outboard, but it appeared to have dissapeared before the sale, I think the broker helped the goodwill on all of the new parts as consolation for the dingy. (it supposedly had a new 6 hp outboard)

CP thanks, the bottom is only a couple of years old and in great shape, I am ready to tackle the oxidation on the green, I brought up some of the great white conditioner and wax, it looked great after I applied it, but the next time i saw the boat it was still faded.

297 Elegante has the right method going there in his pics with the rotary buffer. The secret is in the product you use with it.

The right equipment does make the difference. I didn't go aggressive on my boat as it was in fair shape before I got it.
