I'm so excited! Dry fitted the rear deck ledger boards today. Tomorrow I get a rear deck again... hopefully.

Well that hope was a bust. We got the four ledger boards cut and two secured. Calculating angles and slight changes in stock sizes caused my demise today. Oh yeah, and a run to West Marine for Silicon Bronze screws. That trip hurt a little in both time and money. Perhaps next weekend will yield more progress.

I can certainly sympathize with that.

Went to the boat for a day and a half with a long list of tasks to work on. Only did about half of them. Spent some unplanned time replacing a cleat on the dock that had rusted out bolts. It would have taken much less time if I didn't drop the cleat off the dock and have to go fishing for it.

And then my port engine would fire but immediately shut off. Sure sounded like a neutral safety switch, but much wiggling of the controls at both helms and shorting across the sensor on the trans did not fix it. I finally found a bad crimp connection in the wire behind the lower console, but lost three hours on an unplanned task.

I figure that was about par for a day working on the boat!

Thanks, I needed that. It's nice to know that we all suffer from too much of our own bad luck. Sometimes it feels like the boat's world is against you.

I've gotten to the point that my wife is saying if it floats, runs, and drives, she's good.

OMG! I read the first part of that and thought of "floats, flies, or ______, it's cheaper to rent"! Regardless, great woman.

That is how I got to my perpetual improvement project. You do know I am jealous of you and Barrie staying out of the water long enough to get the boat in good shape, don't you??? Though it is looking like both of you now have pressure to get launched SOON.

We are definitely pulling the boat this fall, and I am thinking about keeping it out long enough for some substantial work.

Progress has been made! The starboard side floor supports are in place and secure. The port side is started and should hopefully be done tomorrow afternoon.

Did I see a VT sweatshirt in the background? My wife and I both went there and actually got married in the chapel on the drillfield.

Yep, VT is the only way to go! Incredible campus, although it has gotten so modern now a days. The photos of your wedding must be awesome!
