I have not pulled the motor, but did the drives. What is really nice, is you can first remove the helm seat, then remove the entire deck over the motor. Plenty of room to move, work, and see. You having a rebuild?

You should be able to pull off the exhaust manifolds first, then the velvet drives. Then it is just a matter of fuel lines ( have a hose clamp and plug handy), wire harnesses, cooling hoses (if in the water, make sure valve is shut) and sensor plugs etc. Then it is removing the motor supports. Take note: re-installation is the tricky part to re-align the motor with the drive. My manual had a very good description on how to adjust the motor angle to the drive. There are adjustments on the mounts to the stringers. You will need feeler gauges for this. This is not just a bolt on and go system.

And I assume you know about the one motor turns this way, the other motor turns that way. They are not the same.

Good luck, and hope it goes well.

mine are both rh rotation the twin disc trans has the motor mounts so I need to remove as an assembly. I have concerns about getting it up and out the front of the engine is tucked in under the helm a bit.

There is a thread on the removal of the 671 . I have not done one on a Trojan , just a Viking and some work boats . One heavy engine and gear .
I will try and find the post .

FWIW when we did the Viking we left the gear in the boat . Tight squeeze coming out the saloon door . The other engine we did a in frame .( rebuild in boat) Why are you pulling the engine ?
