Winterizing!

OK all you guys were a ton of help when I asked about winterizing my freshwater system now I'd like to know how much more winterizing I can do with my boat still in the water if any ?1987 36 foot tri cabin Trojan. Two air-conditioning units, generator, twin motors ? And how about the heads?

We left our boat in the water last winter, and you can do just about anything in the water that you can on land. The only things I did not do were remove the hull drain plugs and open the through hulls (though I did drain them).

All of it, if you don't need your propulsion engines to get to the travel lift.

Sounds like you are getting hauled for the winter. Trojan recommends that these boats stay in the water. I can think of nothing that you can't winterize before hauling. I'd definitely do AC while on the ground, and freshwater while afloat, so you can pump blackwater after flushing antifreeze into it via the fresh water system. Drain the AC strainer if so equipped. Take a big squirting water toy, fill it with antifreeze, then squirt it into the overboard discharge until you see plenty of antifreeze coming out. Do both sides of course.
