bow steering “ over planing” on the F-32.
He stated,
1. The aft 100 gal fuel tanks play a major role in keeping the bow up on a F-32 and prevent “over planing”
2. Over planing of the F-32 was not a noted problem with the F-32.
Over loading the V birth will cause the over planing.
3. On a four tank system running the aft tank empty will cause over planing.
4. On a two tank system running her with the aft tanks almost empty will cause over planing as well as running out of fuel.
5. Mounting the trim taps incorrectly. Trim tabs should have no effect in the up position on a F-32.
6. Rudder size would have a very small effect on over planing.
7. Up to around 1974 Trojan used the rudders Paul Foster posted above with a bronze shank.
Trojan changed the Rudder to a smaller size because of problem with the shaft bending.
Around 1992 John Leed redesigned the pre 1974 rudder with a S/S shank.
This is rudder we sell today for a replacement rudder on a F-32.
