Well as the season is drawing to an end, I do hope that everyone has had a wonderful season so far and will continue to do so. Did not get out on the boat so far this year, she is a floating, stayed on her a few Fridays but that is about it. Oh yeah, took her out to test the fuel pump, and then around to the outside to pump her out . So I guess I cleaned some of the bottom off. On Sept 19,20 21 I will be taking her out to a Chic BBQ at RCYC down on the Hudson, I hope some one with a Trojan will be there.

Hi Rick

So far this season has been great for us and the mightly Blue Heron. The canal trip probably represented about 3 years of season on the lake so we really got our money's worth this time. Of course, now I have a long, long list of things I want to do when the season is over. I'm coming to the realization (after 30+ years of owning boats.....duh..)that a boating season never ends. In the water or out we're always either doing something or planning to do something! Enjoy what's left of the season and have fun at the BBQ.

No!!! It is a very long story, things just seem to happen that way. I was so tied up with finishing some major projects, and when I did have time, well you know, Rain, Rain, Rain, etc. It is funny, I started out this season saying I will spend more time on the boat this year, yeah, I spent less time on the boat, go figure.

Well it gets mighty cold up here in the greater north east. I will take her out of the water around the end of October, and she will not go in till some time in April. The season is short for me due to winter. My big plane is to get my little mitts on a 38 to 42 ftr Trojan for sure, a friend of mine has property on the ditch in Florida. I will take down the ditch in the fall, winter out in the sun, and come back up in the spring to our marina. I have been looking just have not found the one I want. As of yet

Nice going Rick!- Trying to depress us with this end of the summer stuff?!

Summer isn't even close for us here...we do use our boats year-round though. Heck, the fall Rockfish season hasn't begun...Just thinking summer is soon over gives me the chills.
And remember...when December, January and March come around and we're all posting away how we can't wait for boating season, I'll dig this thread up and remind you!

OK, THAT'S IT!! ALL OF US HAVE GOT TO STOP TALKING ABOUT THE END OF THE SEASON!!

Cmon guys, we've got plenty of time to get out there and burn lots of gas/diesel and spend money on crazy projects that will leave our wives shaking their heads over why we can do that and still not find time to fix the dryer or mow the lawn.

ENOUGH OF THIS CRAZINESS!

Man, our boating season isn't over until October. Only then does it START getting cool in Georgia. Don't depress me yet.
But I have a ton of stuff that needs to be donbe this winter anyways. I'll still be out there.

Back on the boat tonight after missing a couple of weekends.

Heaven on earth? Maybe...

Its 2AM, just stumbling back aboard. A few hours spend sharing cocktails (The Capt'n) on the dock with friends. Forgetting about work, bills, and the price of fuel for awhile. More or less "ran into a chum with a bottle of rum" as Mr Jimmy Buffet would say. Can't live much better than this....

No end in site for summer so far in MN. 2 good months to go before haul out. Lets not talk about the end of the season yet...

Attended the annual Corn Roast Barbeque at our Rideau Ferry Harbor Marina this past Sat nite(always a big crowd) and also the moment when they snap the annual "team photo" of the marina population. Rock and roll music until 3:30 A:M (each year I marvel how the police are never called in to quiet it down) and lots of hung over boaters the next day.
Me, I was in bed by midnite but I must say that listening to the "Stones" over the loudspeakers as I drifted off to sleep was great.

Hopefully lots of summer left with dreams of a warm autumn.

Summer! Bah Humbug-the boat, as I expected\planned didn't get wet this summer. House is painted (some trim work remains), and the screened in porch is reroofed. Some driveway patching remains and some misc. stuff has yet to be done, but the summer of work on the house continues. With a little luck I'll get some work done on the interior of the boat, get her rubbed out and waxed before she goes into the limestone mine for the winter.

Kelley and I stopped off at the boat last night, popped open a couple of cold ones, dam that fridge is good. We are taking her out for a run this weekend ( The boat that is

) and we are going to burn up 60 gal of last years gas. If it takes me all weekend so be it, I will be coming back on empty, both beer and gas.
