railing
Does anybody know how easy would it be to remove the teak wood that runs underneath the railing I know not all boats have it thinking of buying a salvage boat and removeing it along with a lot of other item aswell my boat doesnt have it but this boat is the same yr and model shoud go on easy enough. I am just not sure if it will come off with out doing to much damage to the wood itself.

RW, I assume you are referring to the "toe rail". A very nice touch on any boat for sure. The most difficult part will be removing stanchion bases as they are through bolted and hard to get at, in addition to the possibly of seized bolts. You will probably go through some PB blaster left over from working on your through hulls Ha Ha. As far as the wood itself, it is likely screwed down with bungs covering the screwheads. The big advantage with the project is the teak, which is very expensive and it will be cut to fit if it's off of the same hull. Lots of work but, in my opinion, worthwhile. And just think, you will get to maintain it!! Jimbo.
