Good question .... thanks for the info Paul. I am also in the process of shopping for the same ones. What about alternators? .... best place and price to buy?

As for alternators, this place is #1

A & B Auto Electric
12601 Chowen Ave S # A
Burnsville, MN 55337
(952) 894-5147

They remanufacture your core to OEM standards. I've had them do about a dozen alternators over the years and I've never have know to have one they repair fail again. Pretty good track record. And yes, they do remanufacture to marine standards.

For example, our last boat had a pair of 1962 GM 283s with the old cast iron case alternators with the spin out style gear wheel that engaged with the fly wheel. The type they still make for big diesel tractors. Anyway, one failed and the best deal I could find through a remanufactured marine supplier was over $400. A & B did the repair same day for under $60.

Great place, just give them a call and open a ticket before you ship them your core.

I couldn't remember the name of distributor I've bought exhaust from, then it came to me

Marysville Marine
405 South Thompson Road
Sun Prairie, WI 53590
800-992-3878
http://www.marysvillemarine.com/

Great people. Great service. Consistantly less expensive on exhaust parts shipped to my door that I could get from any local marine supplier. They supply dealers, but I asked nice and they set me up an account.

There on-line price book shows the exhaust manifold for a Chrys 318 at $270.
