german flag(s)

having problems finding flags for my boat. i am looking for a 2x3 flag for the stern, and a small one for the bow. both german. preferably the official state flag for the stern, and the kriegsmarine flag for the bow.

does anyone know where i can find them in these sizes?

taking a chance here, because i can't find them elsewhere.

You can get state flags from west marine , Cant help you on the German
flags , Your vessels is not documented is it ?

One comment you should *only* fly the boat's home country (US in your case) from the stern.

You scould then fly the German flag (small) from the bow or say the anchor light or starboard radio antenna.

I concluded that was the reason you wanted to fly that flag. Though that still does not change how the flags should be flown. It is in fact considered to be disrespectful to not fly the boat's country of registration from the stern.

besides you don't want to run in a WW 2 tin can sailor on the high seas and see that German flag. he'll have flash backs ! and sink your a$$. all kidding a side it is disrespectful not to fly the US flag from the stern or main mast. but i understand why you would to fly the German flag. i fly the royal Czar flag from my stbd radio annt. that's the side respect.

The American flag takes precedence over any other flag flown in the USA and is displayed accordingly...

naw you can fly any flag you want. but i would be ready for a hard time if the U.S. flag wasn't where it should be, the stern or highest on the main mast.

I fly the same set on special holidays thou ours are original, a few friends of ours are historians an we do stuff with the USS COD, we dont only fly both flags we actually wear Kriegsmarine uniform, its the bomb, we never had any problems but then again it might be the area and most know who were.

ditto, Use the right etiquette and show respect for your country. You can always find some place to hang a flag but if you are an American in America and are going to fly only one flag, make it your countrys flag. If you are in Canada show respect to Canada. You can always fly more flags but put them in the right order. I fly my LARGE American flag on the back, the Trojan flag/pennant on the starboard side high(a place of honor), another small American flag on the port side high(very obvious when approaching a port) and the yacht club burgee/pennant on the bow. When I am fishing I do not fly my large flag on the stern because it is in the way but I still have the smaller American flag on the port side high to show respect for my country. however, when I am under way or making way I fly my stern flag. This looks good and balanced and shows respect in a good order acceptable to all concerned. If you put in at a port of entry (customs) you will learn the importance of the flag order. During this hard economic season some people are strung pretty tight and I would hate to hear that someones boat was burned because they didn't fly the flags right. I think I just heard the national anthom in the background. and yes I do feel strongly about it.
