Hi again guys !
Can anyone tell me if parts are available for this old system ? I think i need a new switch control

just took the old style system out of my 78-F32 still have all the parts what is it that you need, I may be able to Help you

I replaced my Digisette II controls with this product. Easy install and great features.

I have a 12M with 2 16000 BTU systems. One self contained for the forward staterooms and one split system for the salon.

It appears that both are shot... I got a price of $2600 to replace the forward one and I am not sure about the aft...

Is this a good deal?

Any used units out there?

You can usually repair the old unit cheaper then replacing it Get an estimate from a qualified service technician. You stated that the units were shot. What does that mean? Do they do anything when you turn the units on? A bad control panel, bad compressor low or no Freon, bad pump, or any number of other problems could keep the units from running properly. The AC units that Trojan installed are good systems and shouldn’t be trashed without an inspection by a qualified person.

Thanks for the reply...

I did have an AC guy look at it... he is a guy that has done stuff for me before and others in my marina. He said that the compressor is bad...

Well I just had the AC unit in the cabin replaced yesterday and the installer said that the AC voltage to the boat is only 100 volts. He suggested not using the new unit until the power is addressed...

Could low voltage cause the compressor to die on an AC unit?

It seems odd that both my AC systems had the compressor go at once...

If it is the power do you think I have any recourse with the marnia?

Yes,

Low voltage will make your compressor heat up and possibly burn out the compressor motor. Without the proper voltage everything will run hotter than it should.

Did he check power on the boat or the dock? If the voltage on the dock is low, naturally the marina needs to be made aware. I doubt you have any recourse. Most lease agreements are written fairly broad to protect marina from things like this.

Yeah the power coming to the boat is ~100 volts...


The person that replaced the AC unit does a lot of work at the marina, he said he is going to talk to the general manager of the marina.

I am not holding out much hope that I will get anything out of it...
