Exhaust Fumes

I have a 10 meter sedan that I was selling, but do to the economy I refuse to give her away, so I am keeping her and fixing those little things that need attention. (Its amazing how your ideas turn from seller to boater as far as fixups!) I have side exhaust, which Trojan advertises as movign the fumes away from the boat, but when at cruise it waifs back onto the back deck area and in the cabin if the sldiing glass door is open. Very strong fuel/Co odor (I just had my carbs rebuilt and no smoke or sheen on the surface of the water). any others have this issue or am I missing something?

exhaust fumes if you will leave a hatch open or side windows open while underway it will help keep the fumes from being sucked back into the boat. the term is station wagon effect when the boat moves forward and creates a vaccum behind it. i know that on my f32( which has exhaust exits on the stern) there is a movable window in the lower portion of my center windshield that i can open and just having this opens helps with air flow through the boat. the key is to have air movement through the boat.

In addition to offseting the "station wagon effect" by opening a front window, invest in a CO monitor for the area and another one for the cabin. You don't smell CO - it just kills you. Period.
