When I bought my boat the horn did not work. Took it off the boat and pulled it apart found the elelctrical contacts inside were rusted. Got a small nail file and filed them clean. Works great.
The prior owner had disconnected the wire under the fly bridge that lead to the horn and bought a hand held tooter. Go figure!

Check the fuse again. Check with multimeter. Check wiring right before horn.

Then clean or replace horn.

horn

Post by g36 »

on my f32 mine did not work when the boat was purchased previous owner had a small handheld air horn he said he used when needed. i didnt care for that. although it does get the job done. i like having things on my boat in working order. i have a single trumpet air horn mounted on the stbd side forward on the flybridge. it appears to be the original. found the small air compressor to the horn mounted under the flybridge console. verified power to it when you would hit the horn button but no sound, knew it was the compressor then. took it home and opened it up and found in the motor side of the unit, the magnets had come loose from the inside housing of the horn casing keeping the armature from spinning and thus keeping the motor from turning to develop any air pressure through the pump. i glued them back in with liquid nails all i had at the time and let it set overnight. reassembled this unit and it has now been working for the last 1 1/2 years. i guess i am to cheap, but so far so good. my point is if the horn is this type you may have the same issue. just a thought

horn

if they are air you really should consider making sure the compressor 1)has power 2) is producing air pressure could even be the air hose that is feeding them
