Yesterday I was at the boat and noticed the screen will need to be replaced in the frame on our F25. I reached down, pulled the screen up, but still was unable to lift out the screen from the slide frame. What ever I did to get the screen & frame out failed. Not wanting to damage the frame, thought I'd ask the trusty guy's and gal's on this forum.
Anyone know how to do this?
I would also like to ask if anyone has covered the front windows. I see lots of pictures of them covered with canvas, but has anyone covered them in a more permanent manner?
Thanks for your help!

F25 screen removal

Wow! It's so nice to reply about stuff I've already done on the F-26!
Not sure if your set up on the side windows is the same, but here's what I have and did -
There is an "s-channel" piece of steel that is midway in the side window channel. It's function is to keep the screen frame staionery. You can remove this by taking out the mounting screws on both sides of the channel. Once that is done you should be able to remove the flexible screen frame by pulling it back and then sliding it out from the pointed front of the frame. Go easy and use some finesse, but it will come out. You can then replace the screening and splines yourself by buying supplies at any hardware store of HD/Lowes, etc. Reinstall the frame pointed end first and remember to ease it along. Replace the s-channel stop.
I have canvas mounted on the front cabin windows of the F-26. Originally it was there to help keep water out from the leaky old cracked plexiglass and over-caulked frames. I replaced the windows using advice I found on this forum, and I still have that information - of course it's for and F-26 which has a split front cabin window but I'm going to make a stretch and assume you can remove/repair/replace the front window on your F-25 much the same way.
Now that it's totally waterproof I still use the canvas cover for off-season storage or to keep it darker in the cabin in the morning or for more privacy (I mounted venetian blinds on the inside or each window for shade and a bit of privacy.).
Hope that helps.

Randy,
Thanks a million. I have plastic split windows in front also. There are several places that let water come in badly as we found out when we were hosing the top off one day.
Any info you can give me or tell me where to get it, I would be very thankful, about removing and replacing the front windows. We're in a covered slip, so that helps a lot.
I was thinking about covering them over completely and permanently, with perhaps fiberglass, and painting over the job with the same marine paint I was going to use on the bow.
I like the idea of the privacy, plus the cabin heats up with the sun coming through. I was thinking about using venetian blinds also, and now will.
Thanks again for your advice, it is most helpful.
