Season is over!

Sad, but true. My boat has been hauled and winterized, frame work and tarp are going on this weekend. Now all I have to do all winter is read the forum and live through all you lucky trojan owners that can keep your boats in all year. Maybe some day I can retire and move south.

Wow, being a Florida native, it is hard to imagine the season being over in October. Some of the best boating is here in north Florida during October and November. The days are warm and the nights are now cool, and the water is still delightful at 78-80. Plus it is usually fairly dry for a couple months- hasn't rained in two weeks. We plan to take a couple weeks off and gunkhole a few spots on the gulf coast week after next, fishing and diving. Almost makes up for 10-12" of rain in July and 93-98 degree heat in August.

sorry to hear that.

it's cooled down a bit this week after a series of storms last week (in the mid to low 70s this week), but it's going to be a nice weekend.

having some german friends come for a boatride up the lake, then dinner, then back for a night time return.

coldest months we have here are jan and feb, and it's still not that bad. i can't imagine what it's like for you'se guys. although...you do have the great lakes up there, ya know. ah, sure thing. ya betcha!

Where is our global warming? Here in Minnesota, I've been pulling my boat the last week of October for the past 10 years. This Saturday, the weatherman says the high temp will be 48 and rain.

This has been the coldest summer that I can remember. All summer long, only three weekends were spent without jackets.

THe boat's getting pulled this year on Oct 10th. Very sad. Very sad.

I'm with you guys. I can't stand the season coming to an end and I'll hang on as long as I can with warm clothing and space heaters. Our boat is scheduled to come out on November 23rd. I'm ever hopefull that we'll have a few nice days to get back out on LI Sound.

Mine is out and ready to be winterized and wrapped.

I really dislike this time of year.
I have quite a bit to do this winter so at least I will be on the boat most days.

Our marina is open year round and the boat will stay in the slip. Like Turk said, our coldest months here in Smyrna TN. are Jan/Feb.
I will move the boat to Fate Sanders Marina and a new slip this Saturday. This marina is only 2 miles from our door step, so getting to the boat every day is not impossible for me. Our other marina was 12 miles away and have been trying to get to Fate Sanders for over a year.
But I am also very unhappy the colder weather is apon us. I get cabin fever quickly when the cold sets in and can't go out.

Wow - our boating season never ends up here! I would be sad if I couldn't use the boat during the winter - its some of the best/ clear / beautiful weather we get!

MTurvey, My wife and I hopped on a ferry last spring to Juneau and of all the stops we made we loved Sitka the most but hated Juneau. If we were to move to Alaska, Sitka would be the place. But like you We boat all year long and we love winters when the snow is falling on the water at anchor, it doesn't get any better than that. Of course the brisk sunny days are great too. Here is a pic of last winter when we were getting ready to go out.

Wow - snow on the swim platform. What a sight!

Like many others mine will come out Oct 9th, next Friday. Been an unusual summer on southern Lake Michigan. This was my first summer here as I have spent the last 10 summers on Lake Huron at Port Austin, MI.

Always a sad time of year for me and already looking forward to next spring. It would be nice to be in a place where the water doesn't freeze year-around - maybe someday.

Been almost a year since I joined the forum when we bought SeaDog last fall and I have thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated all of the posts and helpful comments and suggestions. What a great group of people!
