I have fins on two of my air vents missing. Looking at the catalog at beacon marine i don't see any the sutible size for my 1975 trojan. Anyone had to replace these and know were to get replacements?
There are 4 vents on each side, i have 2 of them with broken fins (missing).
Thanks ahead of time for suggestions.

I looked in my yellow pages and found an aluminium fabrication shop... took my vents to them and they copied the fins and welded them in place... then I spray painted them and all was back to new for minimal cost!

becon marine (trojan boats.net ) has them. 4 on each side ? what size are they ? a 1975 I thought would have the 2 large vents (8x17)on each side. you could get 1 and remove the fin from one and put them in the other

Bob at Beacon had mine also but did not show them on his site. I think he has or has access to a lot of things that he does not show. Just give him a call.

the tri cabins have the vents that can also be purchased at west marine etc.... the only trojans that had the really large hull vents were the early model f-32 and f-36 sedans. every other f series had the standard size vents. eventually the f32 and f36 sedans came with a double row of standard size side vents. these were of a plastic/poly carb blend.

During haul-out a few years ago the boatyard knocked out some fins on my vent. Went to home depot and got a small sheet of aluminum and some cutting shears. Epoxied it in and painted. Did it in a few hours. Looks fine and did not cost an arm and a leg.

okay, fine. perhaps bob from beacon or john leed can jump into this. but, all the data that i have, especially the early models of the tri cabin, had the long (about 12") and narrow style vent. perhaps your friends 78 tri cabin had a modification?

They are about 12 x 4 in. I will measure them once hauled out on the 24th.
