Fuel tank size F32

Post by Stripermann2 »

Just want to be sure about this...I understand my front fuel tanks to be 60 gallons each, with the rear tanks at 50 gallons each....need another 32 owner to confirm. Or are the front tanks 55 gallons with the rears being 55 also?

Standard capacity is 120 gallons with additional rear tanks at 100 making it 220. Is this the correct configuration? The manual doesn't specify.
Thanks.

My understanding is that it is the reverse of what you said... Standard config is rear tanks of 60 gals and saddle tanks of 50 gals

Thanks Michael, I wasn't sure and it has been awhile since I filled the fronts completely full.

However on second thought...are standard tanks in an F32 under the cockpit or are they under the salon by the engines?
If standard fuel capacity was 120 gallons and the saddle tanks are standard, it would make them 60 gallon tanks.

Update:
Okay. I got it. The rear drum tanks under the cockpit were the standard fuel tanks for the early F series and were 120 gallons. Not until later did they install the extra or optional tanks outboard of the engines under the salon, 50 gallons each., which had since become the standard, as 4 tanks.

Yes 50 up front and 60 in back. The tanks should have tags on them stating the capacity.

The tags on my rear tanks say 62 gal. and the tags on the saddle tanks read 50 gal. but when I fill the saddles my boat sits bow down and handles like crap (too much weight forward) so I don't use them.
