1985 10 meter Sedan Bridge. I have a 12000 BTU a/c unit in V berth +also a 16000 BTU unit in the salon that is all factory and they dont work. I want to replace them. I just got the boat and I dont no if this many BTUs are to many or not. I would like some input from people who have the same as me.

I am running 2 12000 btu units and they do good but some days I wish one was a lilte larger I would stay with what you have .
have you had them checked ? it could be something simple like a water pump ( both units may share 1 pump) I would be surprized if both units where bad .

I have the 10 meter express cruiser.
It had a16,000 btu Cruiseair unit from the factory.
It as replced during te refit with a new Cruiseair a6,000 BTU unit.
I believe the unoit is sized properly for the cubic feet of space to be cooled.
In my opinion, it would be a mistake to downsize the units cooling capacity from what the Factory installed in your boat, however your existing units may yet be servicable.
It would b a good idea to have them checked by a qualified marine AC technican.

As RWS says, don't downsize.
Better to have it and not need it... then to need it and not have it!

A/C
I have a sedan bridge not an express. After all your responses I feel that the factory 12000 + 16000 A/C units on this boat are proper. thank you for the info. Bill
