mixing moters

hello all and happy new year .
what are the cons of running two typ of moters, a vortec 5.7 on the port and a chry .5.2 on the star . port moter is toast i can get a 5.7 100 hrs compleat drop in w trans fwc std rota carb 2000 and nothing is salvagable from the old moter.port moter was rwc then set up to be half fwc water jackit is rotted thru the star side is a new chry long block 60hrs and im putting new manafolds and risers on in the spring and making it a fully fwc yea the fun never ends i love boatting thair comming to take me away ha ha

Two different motors, two different set-ups...I wouldn't. Different torque curves, rpm, etc. That's just the beginning.

I do have one RW cooled engine and one FW cooled engine and that alone is a handful when servicing the cooling system, keeping extra parts and different part numbers on hand for each.

I'd put two chevy motors in. The resource for parts is endless.

If you can only afford 1 engine then you may have to do it . I know of a F that ran a 318 and a 350 for years no issues and a Chris that ran a Chevy and a ford . yes its best to have both the same BUT>>>>>>>>>>

You got to do what you got to do.

replace the one and go boating and keep a eye out for another Chevy .
