Got tired of tripping over the aft anchor...

Post by Paul - SW Ontario »

so I fixed that problem.

In my photobucket link below ...you can see the new aluminum boxes I built for my swim platform. Sized to fit my Danforth and rode, in one of them...and maybe cold beverages in the other.

Patterned as such that they rest above the water line about two inches at rest....with 3/8 holes drilled at their lowest points...all new supports as well.

Did new curtains as well...wanted them to fit inside the teak frames.but still cover the black aluminum frames themselves....not bad for my first attempt at sewing with an old 1961 Italian sewing machine....can't kill it.

Managed to get it in my coverall building to work on it this winter.

That is very nice job. I am beginning to work on my new 1971 F26. It looks good but it can be better. I can see these Trojans are very nice boats. Ill post some photos.

Paul, you are the man!! What you have done with your boat is amazing. I looks like new and has better features!! Please share pics with us on how the curtains are made and some closeups of them so I can get rid of the ones I have. Did your cabin walls comme like that or did you refinish them. Ditto question about table and counters.
Thank you for the pics.

Rodman, Holler at me one of tthese weekends and we can meet At Salt Springs or Silver Glenn.

Cabin walls etc....

Post by Paul - SW Ontario »

Thanks for the pat on the back...

the curtains are $3 per yard black fabric from the ladies sewing store...simply measured the inside of the windows, cut the fabric an inch larger all the way around, folded and stitched a hem. Hung them with the stretchable black clothing elastic in the sewing section of Wally Mart, 1/4' eyelets from the hardware section, screw them in sideways into the wood...and walla!

The black part of the walls are automotive/recreational type carpet glued sparingly to the hull. The taupe color is again, simple fabric stretched over some 3/4" foam and Stainless stapled in place....still have to cover the seams between the black and taupe with some more teak molding to hide the uneven material folds.

Hope this helps.
