Need help with Onan ID

Post by 72SeaRaider »

I am having the time of my life trying to identify the Onan genset in my new boat. From what I can tell it is original. I have a 1972 Sea Raider Express. Can anyone point me in the right direction here? There is no id plate on the genset.

I have read thru previous posts. I have searched http://www.smokstak.com. I can't find a thing.

My genset stopped running over the weekend, and I think I am having a power issue. It still turns over but the first crank is very slow then it starts to turnover like it has a dead battery.

I want to do a full tune up as well, but I have no idea what parts to even start to look for.

Thanks for any help or direction.

Onan is a division of Cummins Engine Co. Your local Cummins dealer may be able to help.

Of course my digital camera wasn't working, so I had to use my blackberry, and only two picks came out decent.

I cleaned up the top plate which exposed an Onan No and an Assy No which are displayed in one picture.

Any help would be appreciated identifying this bad boy.

I forwarded your pics to a friend of mine who's business is marine generators and A/C systems. Perhaps he can positively identify it for you.

Let you know...

Found out from someone on SmokStak.com that my genset is a model MCCK spec E or F.

So next question, does anyone have an MCCK manual they can forward or point me in the right direction where I can buy one with spec E or F? Each one I see states "Begin Spec E" and not both.
