Man , what is going on with this economy??? and my Trojan??
I know I probably gonna get thrashed for this posting , for two reasons, one because its been beaten to death. The other is that Im considering giving up my F31 for , of all things a Wood Chris Craft.
I absolutely fell in love with a 36 CC Challenger, so I decided to put my Trojan up for sale. Well two weeks later, ya gotta be kidding me,LOL. Not for nothing, and nobody here has seen my Trojan, but trust me, its a beauty, maybe only second to FarfromPuken's but nice nevertheless. Its
basically turn key, super clean, runs even better and in the water ready to go. So Im sure some of you have even seen it on ebay or Craigslist.
47 phone calls and counting, and NOT ONE PERSON has even come to look.
whats up with that??? is 7900 alot of money??? I thought it would fly. I mean whats up with people? Seems people are lonely so they decide to just call, spend countless minutes on the phone asking questions, but trust me their not even thinking abou buying a boat in this price range?? my question is, I would understand if someone came to look at it and decided it was to much, but my issue is I cant get someone to even come look? seems odd, Im pretty convinced that Im crazy and the rest of the world is normal.
To make matters even more interesting, I even included my jet ski, with the deal, and full tanks of fuel. LOL still nothing. Guess this economy is worse than I thought. But the qustion still remains, why call and then not look, and its 48 calls and not one has come to look. Interesting. I guess the gods of Lancaster Pa are trying to tell me something.
and have some of you guys seen the price of some of the used boats in my range? 18 20 25 even 30K for boats, Im trying to get 8 and nothing. LOL must be me.
just want someone to tell me Im out of my mind and Ill be ok with that.
I really wanted the CC but I guess I cant do it.

first, valium is your friend.
secondly, maybe you're making it sound tooooo cheaply priced. if i see someone trying to sell something and they make the deal to good to be true/pass up, i automatically think there must be a problem, so i stear away quickly. just me.
and thirdly, if you got a chris craft, you wouldn't be on the wonderful Christmas card/pressie list that i hear bob has lined up for us this year.

You need to take the AGE of our boats into consideration.
20 - 25 - 35 + years old AND an orphaned brand at that.
Trojan, TROJAN - What's that?
Sounds interesting, let's call and find out.
An old boat is not at all like an antique car.
It's also harder to impress the wife/friends with.
Just my perception.

Most people, I think, are unsure if $3, 4, 5, $10 a gallon gas is coming, and whether our economy will collapse or not. A boat like ours will not be of much benefit if all the grocery stores are looted out, the gas stations are burned down and gangs roam the roads killing and stealing.

I know that boat!
My wife, 8 kids, the dogs and I went by and climbed all over it - hot-wired it and took it for a ride. We would have made an offer, but the fuel was low and the fridge was empty.
just kidding ... You did well selling in 3 weeks, unless you gave it away.
I don't want to know what you sold it for.

actually, they will. when the poo hits the fan, we can simply go to the middle of the lake/river, and anchor. nuke some popcorn, watch the mahem, and come back to shore when it's over.Danny Bailey wrote:A boat like ours will not be of much benefit if all the grocery stores are looted out, the gas stations are burned down and gangs roam the roads killing and stealing.

That's exactly what I was thinking,Tuck. Head out with my guns, religion and plenty of ammo!Tuck wrote:actually, they will. when the poo hits the fan, we can simply go to the middle of the lake/river, and anchor. nuke some popcorn, watch the mahem, and come back to shore when it's over.Danny Bailey wrote:A boat like ours will not be of much benefit if all the grocery stores are looted out, the gas stations are burned down and gangs roam the roads killing and stealing.
