Bought a new carb

I bought a New Marine 600 holly carburetor. The same problem exist. No power, I am thinking it a vacuum problem I was reading the Holly manual it says there should be a vacuum line to open the secondaries. Which there is not for some reason. I talked to a guy at the dock he had a old Correct Craft ski boat that had a 351W in it. He gave me a guys number that had worked for Correct Craft for 20+ years he said that all they used was 351W in there boats so I am going to have him come over this week and fix it. I will keep everyone posted.

keep spending the money but until you get the right prop and that means checking the gear ratio , you will never get that boat right and go broke in mean time , maybe the pro you found will get right .

Not trying to give you a hard time but I hate seeing money throw away

I agree with Prowlerfish, I remember you saying you'd hit 4000 rpm, with a smaller prop. If so then your engine revs high enuff, or near so, and it sounds like it is lugging cuz of too much prop. Did you measure your speed with a gps?

I think it works off the power valve , I will know for sure in the morning

The 4100 with the 14x10 is exactly what my boat ran with just about the same set up and u got 3100 out of a 16x18 witch is a lot of prop. it would get up faster and better at low Rs because it has much less slip so its pushing more water,

it just seams to me that with a smooth bottom working trim tabs and that 14x10 prop u should be rght in the ball park mabe it needs to be cupped

Rodman, As I recall your bottom is like the surface of the moon (unless you have addressed this since you posted the pics) Do not under estimate the effect this will have on performance, rpm's, etc. jimbo36
